Meeting the beautiful Fleur

On Monday 16th February at Meadowhall Sheffield I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Fleur De Force! This beautiful and inspiring lady was just as lovely in person as she is in her videos. Beautiful golden locks tousled and effortlessly stylish Fleur greeted every member with a huge smile, writing personal dedications in each and everyone's copies of her first ever novel 'The Glam Guide'.

The event itself was organised brilliantly! No rushes or cramming down isles. Wristbands were given out on purchasing your copy of the novel for an allocated time slot, banishing the hours of waiting! I simply rocked up at my allotted time and met the lovely Fleur within 30 minutes! It was amazingly organised and I would like to personally pat on the back whoever organised the affair.

After my short queue Fleur happily signed two copies of her book, one for myself and one for my friend who was unable to attend, chatting happily as she did so. After signing we had a photo and bid one another a fond farewell.

It gets more exciting... Yes it really does! After meeting Fleur I tweeted with the photo we had taken together tagging her account. Fleur favorited the tweet and even better she used my photo on her Instagram! Yes, yes I did have a fan girl moment! Check out the photo here: Fleurs instagram collage

I apologise for my over excitement! But overall I had a lovely day meeting the lovely Fleur. Another bonus the book is beautifully written and illustrated! Well done Fleur.

Has anyone else met anyone from the Youtube community?

What I got for christmas: Makeup edition

Hi everyone!
Welcome to my very first blog post! LauraDaze will be a creative space where I can share my love for writing, fashion and makeup with the lovely blogging community.

I may be slightly late on the bandwagon with the 'What I got for Christmas' idea, but I received some fabulous makeup which I would love to share with you. Makeup is a passion of mine and nothing makes me more excited than a box of dreamy products. I have been using them all for a while now and I am able to give a good insight into the products and how I am getting on with them!

I am currently storing all of the new products in my Burberry box, mainly because I am lacking in storage space, and I have to admit I quite enjoy the novelty of delving into what I have been calling the 'Box of Dreams' every morning when applying the days makeup.

Inside the box are an array of products from various brands, some of which I have previously never owned, but others I have loved for a long time. First of all (and most exciting of all) is a few items from Burberry! My face lit up like a Christmas tree when I opened this one. In the lovely canvas box was a beautiful deep burgundy lipstick in the shade Oxblood. Not only is the lipstick formulation delightful with medium pigmentation and slightly glossy finish but the packaging is to die for! Gold, etched with the Burberry stripes and magnetic. I say no more. The lip liner I received is more of a berry tone but still sits nicely under the lipstick making it slightly longer wearing. Not only that but the liner looks incredible all over the lips with a dash of lip gloss, creating that berry stained look which was oh so popular in the winter months. The Burberry collection continues with the matching nail polish also in the shade Oxblood. I can safely say this nail varnish has staying power! After two weeks of wear I had 0 chips and countless complements.

Secondly comes Nars a brand I had not ventured into before, mainly because of its hefty price tag! The Narsissist smoky eye palette is what sat under my tree. The palette contains three shades,a matte cream, a cool toned brown and a warm chocolate brown with flecks of gold glitter running throughout! Sounds heavenly, looks heavenly too. The eyeshadow trio came with an angled brush and eyeliner. The brush picks up waaaaay too much product for my liking as it is so densely packed, cannot say I'm a fan. The eye liner is lovely and creamy and has great staying power on the waterline and can be smudged out nicely. Overall I feel the set is slightly over priced and I do feel there is better out there for a fraction of the price.

I had been lusting after the benefit blush palette for a long time! 5 miniature blushes in the shades: dandelion, bella bamba, sugar bomb, coralista, and finally the newest one of the bunch rockateur. There was also a miniature Hoola which I love very much and has been used daily for all over colour and a bit of a contour. Overall this is a fabulous set!I could not say a bad word about it! Great price. Great products. Well done benefit!

Last of all was the new release from Urban Decay, released early December in the UK came Naked On the Run! A great little set for any travellers out there! I shan't go into detail about each product as there are so many to mention! I'll save that for a later post! Overall very impressed! Though slightly disappointed with the new Perversion mascara, which is sad as I was rather hyped up about trying this one!

Let me know what products you received for Christmas! Any recommendations?
